In particular, this class requires knowledge of the following material from CS 3331/3:
CS 2411/3 Systems Programming, CS 2211/3 Advanced Programming, and MAT 2213 Calculus III are not
prerequisites for this class anymore (they used to be in the 2006-2008 catalog). There should not be any
waivers necessary for these classes, but I will sign them if necessary.
Prerequisites:
CS 2121/3 Data Structures, CS 2231/3 Discrete Mathematical Structures, CS 3331/3 Mathematical
Foundations
Since we are in a transitional phase between 2006-2008 and 2008-2010 catalogs, some students may not have
taken CS 3331/3, or may want to take it in parallel with CS 3341/3. I will therefore very briefly summarize
these topics in class. However, students are strongly advised to take CS3331/3 or "STA 3543 Statistics"
or "MAT 2233 Linear Algebra" (in this order of preference) before taking "CS 3341/3 Analysis of
Algorithms",
as any lack of this required knowledge will put students at a disadvantage.Class webpage:
